Abstract:
Provided is a button fastener (1, 61, 71, 81) that can reliably attach a button (50, 120, 130) to a fabric (c) even if the fabric (c) is thin. Using the provided button fastener, removal of fabric leavings (c′, c″) is unnecessary and said fabric leavings (c′, c″) do not hamper the attachment of the button (50, 120, 130). The provided button fastener (1, 61, 71, 81) comprises a fastener body (10, 10a, 10b, 10c), which has a roughly disc-shaped base section (20) and a hollow cylindrical post section (30, 90, 100, 110), and a cover member (40). The post section (30, 90, 100, 110) protrudes upwards from the center of the base section (20), concentrically with the base section (20), and has a top opening (30′, 90′, 100′, 110′) in the top end (34, 94, 104, 114) thereof and a bottom opening (30″) in the center of the base section (20). The cover member (40) is fitted to the fastener body (10, 10a, 10b, 10c) so as to cover the bottom surface of the base section (20), including the aforementioned bottom opening (30″). The base section (20) includes a base bottom section (21), which is adjacent to the post section (30, 90, 100, 110), and a base flange section (22), which rises upwards from the radial outside of the base bottom section (21). The cover member (40) includes a curved outer section (42) that curves from the bottom-surface side of the base section (20) and rises above the base flange section (22) of the base section (20). The top end (34, 104, 114) of the post section (30, 90, 100, 110) can be formed into an edge (34, 104, 114) such that the fabric (c) between the button (50, 120, 130) and said edge (34, 104, 114) can be cut when the button (50, 120, 130) is attached to the fabric (c). Also, the post section (30, 110) can include a double-back section (35, 115) that doubles back radially inwards and downwards from the top end (34, 114).
