Abstract:
A button mounting upper die (10, 50, 60) which can, irrespective of the thickness of cloth (1), stake a shaft section (32) of a button mounting member (30) in such a manner that a button (20) is reliably mounted to the cloth (1). Recesses (13a, 63a) which allow the shaft section (32) to expand to the outside radially in staking operation and projections (16, 56, 66) which limit the expansion of the shaft section (32) to the outside radially in the staking operation are alternately circumferentially arranged on an operating bottom section (11) of the button mounting upper die (10, 50, 60). The operating bottom section (11) is adapted, when the button (20) becomes mounted to the cloth (1) by the button mounting member (30), to stake the shaft section (32) of the button mounting member (30), said shaft section (32) having penetrated through the cloth (1) and then been passed through a mounting opening (24) of the button (20). The shaft section (32) is concentrically expanded to the outside radially at the recesses (13a, 63a) and is limited to expand to the outside radially at the projections (16, 56, 66).
