Description
C-TYPE UTILITY POLE UNDERBRACING WITH RAISED PORTIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF UTILITY POLE
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a C-type utility pole underbracing buried in the lower end portion of utility pole for firm fixing of it during utility pole construction by erecting and burying it, more specifically to a C-type utility pole underbracing with raised portions, wherein raised portions are formed respectively at both ends of the C- type utility pole underbracing so as to install the utility pole underbracing by mechanized construction using expander of auger crane, and the C-type body portion connecting the raised portions of both ends through the inclined portions is configured so as to have a size smaller than the raised portions, so that the adherence area with soil is further increased in the tension direction of utility pole during burial of it through an improved friction increasing effect with soil so as to be able to support it more firmly and make its underbracing lightweight, and erect and carry it more conveniently by additionally forming hook insert holes. Background Art
[2] For example, Korean Patent Application No. 2006-112100 filed by the applicant of the present invention discloses a utility pole underbracing for utility pole construction. In this utility pole underbracing, as shown in Fig. 1, the overall shape of the utility pole underbracing 100 is roughly a half doughnut, and the inner circumference is formed in a utility pole adherence surface 101 of a C-type curved surface, and the outer circumference 102 has a diameter of about 0.8 m. Although this utility pole underbracing has a shape different from the conventional bar-type utility pole underbracing, the surface area in contact with soil after mounting is almost the same and the volume is decreased so the weight can be reduced further than the conventional rectangular underbracing. Therefore, when excavating the pit for burying the utility pole during utility pole construction, the excavation volume is reduced by far compared with the conventional rectangular underbracing, and since it is easy to handle, construction efficiency and workability are improved. Furthermore, on the outer circumference of the semi-circular utility pole underbracing forms a U-bolt inserting hole 103 used for mounting the underbracing and a friction increasing slot 104 functioning to increase the cohesion with soil under the earth surface, and the inner circumference is formed of a multilevel characteristic surface according to the curvature by utility pole specification, resulting in increased mountability and action force of utility pole underbracing.
[3] However, since the above mentioned semi-circular utility pole underbracing is made of C-type solid bound by curved surface, the adherence area with soil is not sufficient, so the coherence with utility pole and soil is not satisfactory. And in the case of installing by assembling U bolts, etc. the U-bolt insert hole is of through-hole shape, so the dimensions of insert hole and U bolt should correspond perfectly, which causes inconvenience due to difficulty in numerical management and frictional interference in construction.
[4] Also, since the above mentioned conventional semi-circular utility pole underbracing is a relatively large and heavy object (95 kg), it is difficult to handle and there are many difficulties with carriage and fabrication. In the case of installing a large and heavy object on the utility pole burial site by using an extra crane, the process for binding utility pole underbracing to crane is complicated, and there is a problem in that it is considerably difficult and toilsome to disassemble the binding means again.
[5] Therefore, the actual site has dire need for improved utility pole underbracing that has better adherence resistance force with soil and also is easier to fasten to utility pole using U bolts.
Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[6] It is an object of the present invention to provide C-type utility pole underbracing with raised portions for construction of utility pole, wherein raised portions are formed respectively at both ends of C-type utility pole underbracing and a C-type body portion for connecting the raised portions at both ends through inclined portions is constructed so as to have a size smaller than the raised portions, so the force of ground contact with soil is improved through the raised portions formed at both ends, and not only the utility pole underbracing can be made lightweight through the body portion with the size smaller than the raised portion but also a hook inserting hole is through-formed in the center of the C-type utility pole underbracing, and bolt joining holes of slit shape are formed in separation at a given interval, so that it is easy to move and put in the utility pole underbracing using crane through hook inserting hole and easy to fasten U bolt through the bolt joining hole. Technical Solution
[7] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an utility pole underbracing comprising a friction increasing means which is raised portions formed at both ends of monolithically-formed utility pole underbracing, a C-type body portion with the size reduced to make it lightweight, a binding guide means, and a fastening means which is bolt joining holes for U bolts installed on the utility pole formed at both sides of hook inserting hole.
Advantageous Effects
[8] According to the C-type utility pole underbracing with raised portions for construction of utility hole of the present invention, the force of contact with soil is improved through the raised portions, the utility pole is made lightweight through a reduced body portion, it is easy to move and install utility pole underbracing using crane by hook inserting holes, and U bolts are fastened easily by bolt joining holes, so it provides convenience in construction. Fig. 4 is a plan sectional view of the C-type utility pole underbracing according to the present invention
[21] In C-type utility pole underbracing 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, raised portions 11 and 11' with the size-increased upward and sideward are formed respectively at both ends, and the body portion 12 of the utility pole underbracing 10 connecting the raised portions 11 and 11 of both ends through the inclined portions 17 and 17' has a smaller size than the raised portions 11 and 11'. In the center of the utility pole underbracing 10 is through-formed a hook inserting hole 13, and on both sides of the hook inserting hole 13 are formed bolt inserting holes 14 and 14' of slit shape respectively. Around the hook inserting hole 13 of the body portion 12 is formed a first friction increasing slot 15 in concave shape of a given depth, and around the bolt inserting holes 14 and 14' of the body portion 12 are formed a partly cut-away second friction slots 16 and 16' respectively.
[22] Also, the body portion 12 placed between the raised portions 11 and 11' of the utility pole underbracing 10 includes inclined portions 17 and 17' to make a more natural shape and has excellent durability against external shock applied to the corner.
[23] The utility pole underbracing 10 according to another embodiment of the present invention further comprises an earthing plate 30 attached to the bottom surface of the utility pole underbracing 10, and a ground wire 31 one end of which is connected to the earthing plate 30 and the other end of which is drawn out through the body portion 12, so that the ground wire 31 may as well be connected to the earth line of the utility pole.
[24] As shown in Fig. 6, the utility pole underbracing 10 is mounted to the utility pole 21 by U bolt 20.
[25] Action of C-type utility pole underbracing with raised portions for construction of utility pole will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[26] In general, after completing minimum excavation work for burying C-type utility pole underbracing by using equipment such as auger crane or backhoe or man power, utility pole underbracing 10 is mounted to the utility pole 21 by U bolt 20.
[27] At this time, at both ends of the C-type utility pole underbracing 10 of the present invention are formed raised portions 11 and 11' of size-increased shape. Since these raised portions 11 and 11' make action of largely widening the areas of interference and friction with soil due to refilling, binding force with soil is increased eventually, so the utility pole 21 can be maintained more stably and firmly.
[28] Namely, although proper binding force with soil can be obtained by C-type underbracing along, the utility pole could be inclined or slanted depending on the quality of soil or geologic condition. In such a case, inclination or slant of utility pole 21 can
be prevented by further enhancing the binding force with soil through raised portions 11 and 11' formed on the utility pole underbracing of the present invention.
[29] In addition, the utility pole underbracing 10 of the present invention has bolt inserting holes 14 and 14' provided in its body portion 12. These bolt inserting holes 14 and 14' have a horizontally penetrated slit shape, with an advantage that when assembling U bolt 20 to mount the utility pole underbracing 10 to the utility pole 21, the U bolt 20 can be inserted and fixed more easily and quickly.
[30] The body portion 12 of utility pole underbracing 10 according to the present invention has a shape with the size smaller than the raised portions 11 and 11'. Since the size of the body portion 12 is decreased, the total weight of utility pole underbracing 10 is reduced greatly and it is easy to handle and install. In addition, since the raised portions 11 and 11' and body portion 12 of utility pole underbracing 10 are connected monolithically through gentle inclined portions 17 and 17', the total weight of the utility pole underbracing 10 is reduced; since the increased adherence area with soil can be maintained as it is, the utility pole 21 can be supported more stably.
[31] In particular, in the center of the body portion 12 is through-formed the hook inserting hole 13 horizontally. Accordingly, as shown in Fig. 5, during the work of moving and installing utility pole underbracing 10 using crane 110, the utility pole underbracing 10 can be handled more conveniently by inserting into the hook inserting hole 13 the hook 111 for transport and installation of utility pole underbracing provided in crane 110.
[32] In addition, the outer circumference of the body portion 12 is provided with the first friction increasing slot 15 formed around the hook inserting hole 13 and second friction increasing holes 16 and 16' formed around the bolt inserting holes 14 and 14'. Accordingly, it is possible to improve friction resistance force between the utility pole underbracing 10 and soil through these first friction slot 15 and second friction slots 16 and 16'. The second friction increasing slots 16 and 16' play the role of an accommodating space where a stop nut (not shown) fastened to the screw portion of U bolt 20 is located during use.
[33] At this time, the bottom surface 18 of the second friction increasing slots 16 and 16' is formed at inclination of 5 to 10° as it goes outward so as to prevent the nut of U bolt from adhering to the inner wall of the second friction increasing slots during utility pole underbracing installation work to make it easy to use tool for tightening the nut. And, accordingly as the nut moves outward along the inclined portion at the time of fastening the nut, the position of U bolt gradually moves from the inside to the outside of bolt inserting holes 14 and 14' while the surface contact portion is increased, so it is possible to fix U bolt firmly and stably.
[34] Therefore, as shown in Fig. 6, the utility pole underbracing 10 mounted on the lower
part of the utility pole 21 and buried in soil can get excellent binding force with soil and can be installed easily.
[35] Meanwhile, the utility pole underbracing according to another embodiment of the present invention has an earthing plate 30 made of metal material attached on the whole of the bottom surface of the utility pole underbracing 10 and a ground wire 31 connected to the earthing plate 30, as shown in Fig. 7. The ground wire 31 can be used by easily connecting it with the earth line of utility pole, after exposing it outside through the body portion 12 of the utility pole underbracing 10. Industrial Applicability
[36] According to the present invention, the force of contact with soil is improved through the raised portions, the utility pole is made lightweight through a reduced body portion, it is easy to move and install utility pole underbracing using crane by hook inserting holes, and U bolts are fastened easily by bolt joining holes, so it provides convenience in construction.
[37] Although the present invention has been described in detail reference to its presently preferred embodiment, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various modifications and equivalents can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, as set forth in the appended claims.
