Abstract:

Tools are automatically allocated with high accuracy for general purpose for a sheet metal working CAD&sol CAM system. A CAD drawing is made (S102), a continuous line processing, a product profile line, and a product window blanking line are defined (S103), and tools are allocated (S210 to S286). Automatic tool allocation for preferential machining shapes such as simple shapes (circle, triangle) and shapes that can be blanked by special tools is performed (S210), and then general−purpose automatic tool allocation is performed. In this allocation, a tool is allocated to the machining of arcuate and slant line portions of a machining shape unit by dividing the machining shape unit into parts to which horizontal&sol vertical&sol orthogonal lines are added (S250), and a tool is allocated to the other portions by converting the other portions into rectangles (S280). A nonexecution−type NC program is written after the tool allocation (S112), the NC program is optimized thereafter (S114), and an execution−type NC program is outputted (S116).
