Abstract:
A drive system for transferring power between a pulley arrangement and a cable (A, B), suitable for use in operating a curtain system, comprises a first pulley (101) for accommodating turns of the cable (A, B) collectively contacting the first pulley (101) through greater than 360�, each turn contacting the first pulley through less than 360�, and each turn has a respective circumferential path, which is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the first pulley (101), and one further pulley (105) adjacent the first pulley (101) and located for receiving the cable (A, B) feeding off the first pulley (101) after a turn thereon and to feedback the cable (A, B) with axial offset onto the first pulley (101) for another turn therearound, whereby the turns are parallel to one another and have no significant axial pressure. Optionally, a small difference in the diameter of the circumferential parts for each turn is provided and respective grooves may be provided in the first pulley (101) for each of the turns.
