Description:
CABLE GUARD DUCT USED IN RAIL AWNINGS WITH LIGHTING

SPECIFICATIONS

TECHNICAL FIELD

The innovation is related to the rail awnings used in different locations, and it comprises a cable protection for bearing and protection of the cables connected to the lighting systems positioned on the awning profiles under the awning.

THE KNOWN STATUS OF THE TECHNIQUE

Rail awnings are particularly used at residences and business locations having open areas for of their feature of being opened and closed whenever desired.

In this respect, the summary of the useful model for Turkey, published with registration no. TR200706668, is as follows;

"The invention is related to the rail awning system (1) positioned for the purpose of covering the open areas and ensuring putting these areas into service. The characteristic of the aforementioned rail awning system (1) is comprising internal girder profiles (4.8) ensuring protection of the membrane canopy (4) against poor weather conditions such as wind, snow by positioning the membrane canopy (4) by several intervals at the lower part, as well as enabling prevention of non- esthetical appearance of the membrane canopy (4) due to sagging over time. By the help of the locomotive front profile (4.6) positioned at the front of the aforementioned internal girder profiles (4.8), the membrane canopy (4) is ensured to be opened and closed automatically by the power received from the engine (2)."

In the aforementioned patent, there are awning horizontal profiles advancing accompanied with the locomotive profile on the rails which are fixed to the awning fabric and located on the side profiles. Generally, positioning of lighting or other systems requiring electricity cannot be performed in such awning systems. The main reason of this is folding of the awning fabric while opening and closing, and the fact that fixing of the cables that are wanted to be used becomes impossible.

Due to such problems, a need has aroused out for cable protection and fixing items that will ensure that lighting systems or other different systems requiring electrical installation are used healthily and safely on rail awnings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention has been developed by inspiration from the existing conditions, and is intended to solve the abovementioned problems.

The primary purpose of the invention is ensuring positioning of the cable connections that will meet the electricity requirement of the lighting systems to be used in the rail awnings or the other systems having such requirement so that they can be folded and opened together with the awning fabric during opening of the awning. By this way, an electricity system having freedom of movement can be established.

Another purpose of the invention is ensuring that the aforementioned cables are less effected by the external factors.

The invention is intended for fixing of the cables positioned on the awning safely, and using them without damaging the environment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention is related to the rail awnings (1) which are used as shade and rainproof particularly at such areas as residence balconies, terraces, office gardens in warm seasons; and to create closed areas by closing the side openings with walls made of various materials; which move on side profiles (2) bearing rails; and which ensure opening and closing of the awning fabric (4) by the help of the locomotive profile fixed on the front end of the awning fabric (4). It comprises the cable protection duct (6) which ensures that the cables carrying the required electricity supply are positioned, arranged and protected in case of need, and which incorporates the cable slot (7).

The abovementioned protection duct (6) is produced from a flexible material, preferably flexible plastic material, so that it can be folded together with the fabric (4) when the awning (1) is opened. In a construction of the duct (6), there is a C piece having a cable slot (7) in a diameter and/or width where the cable (5) cables (5) cam be positioned one over another or one next to another as shown in Figure-1 as cross-section, and duct fixing tabs extending upwards from the upper arm end of the said C piece, and downwards from the lower arm end. If a single cable (5) will be positioned, the C piece (9) is made in a width where a single cable (5) can be positioned and in the form of a regular circle by cross-section.

Also, in order for protection of the cables (5) from external factors, the top of the said channel is covered by the fabric (4) used for the awning.

The alternative construction of the cable protection duct (6) shown in Figure-2 comprises a base (10) with a flat line by cross-section, and a T-shaped retaining piece (11), mounted in the middle point of the base, having radial lines for cable positioning (5). The cables (5) can be positioned on both sides of the T piece (11).

The cables (5) brought to the desired points through the aforementioned ducts (6) are connected to item requiring electricity, particularly to the armatures (12) positioned on the awning horizontal profiles (3) as exemplified in Figures 2 and 3.

The protection ducts (6) are preferably fixed under the rails to which the horizontal profiles (3) are connected and on which they movie, over the awning fabric (4) and horizontal profiles (3). The cable (5) desired to be transmitted to the armature (12) is transmitted by passing it through the horizontal profile (3).

When the awning (1) is closed, the ducts (6) formed from flexible material can be closed by being folded together with the fabric (4); when the awning is opened, they are opened together with the awning (1), and a proper use of the cables is ensured.

The protection coverage of this application is specified in the section of claims, and it absolutely cannot be limited with those stated above for exemplification. It is obvious that a technical expert can introduce the innovation introduced in the invention using similar constructions and/or apply this construction to other fields used in the respective technique with similar purposes. Hence, it is also obvious that such constructions will be lacking the innovation criteria.
