Abstract:
A cable inspection device 10 non-destructively inspects a cable 5 which supports a bridge. The cable inspection device 10 comprises a neutron source 21 and a neutron detection device 22. The neutron source 21 irradiates a neutron beam over the cable 5. The neutron detection device 22 has a detection surface 23 disposed at the exterior of the cable 5, detects target neutrons having an energy no more than a predetermined value which is less than an energy of fast neutrons from among neutrons emitted from the cable 5 during radiation of the neutron beam and incident upon the detection surface 23, detects the number of detected target neutrons, and measures the number of incidences thereof.
