Abstract:
Provided is a cable media converter (CMC) management method. The method comprises: the CMC controller receiving a second message sent by a CMC from a management channel, wherein the second message contains an identifier of the CMC and the profile information about a CM, and the identifier of the CMC is used for uniquely identifying the CMC; and according to a locally saved correlation between an OLT and the CMC, the CMC controller determining the OLT corresponding to the CMC identified by the identifier in the second message, and sending the profile information in the second message to the determined OLT. Also provided are a CMC controller and a system. By means of the present invention, the CMCs under a plurality of OLTs can be managed by the CMC controller, thereby achieving device sharing and saving the cost of the network hardware.
