Abstract:
A linear motion member comprises: a main unit that has a line of teeth on the outer circumferential face to mesh with a gear, and that has the rotation around an axis regulated by a rotation regulating member, and that can linearly reciprocate in the axial direction in accordance with the direction of rotation of the gear; an idling unit that is provided on the end opposite to the cable end side of the main unit so as to be able to rotate about the axis and that has a line of teeth on the outer circumferential face that mesh with the gear; and an idling mechanism that allows the idling unit to rotate relative to the main unit in one direction corresponding to the prescribed direction of rotation for the gear and that regulates the rotation in the opposite direction. The idling mechanism causes the idling unit to be rotated in the prescribed direction of rotation of the gear and causes the same to idle in the permitted direction by way of the linear motion member with the line of teeth on the outer circumferential face of the main unit meshed with the gear moving linearly in the direction that tension is applied to a cable according to the rotation of the gear in the prescribed direction of rotation and the line of teeth on the outer circumferential face of the idling unit meshing with the gear. Thus, the state in which a drive source does not stop normally can be handled and damage to constituent members can be prevented.
