Abstract:
"A cable-stayed bridge lightning protection apparatus for distributing a lightning current", according to the present invention, comprises: a lightning rod (40) provided at the cable-stayed bridge; a grounding body (80) for facilitating an electrical connection of the lightning rod and the ground; a down-conductor (50) for connecting the lightning rod and the grounding body; supporting cables (30) for connecting a tower and a deck of the cable-stayed bridge; a protective lightning inducing wire (60) of the supporting cable, supported at the uppermost supporting cable among the plurality of supporting cables by one or more of a plurality of insulating supporters (90), and connected to the down-conductor (50) at the lower end of the lightning rod (40); and current distribution conductors (70) provided in parallel to the supporting cables, and connected to the down-conductor (50) and the grounding body (80) at both end portions of the supporting cable. The present invention relates to the cable-stayed bridge lightning protection apparatus for distributing the lightning current, the apparatus allowing the lightning current (a current flowing in because of the lightning) to be distributed and flow to the down-conductor, and the current distribution conductors, provided in parallel to each supporting cable, when lightning (hereinafter, referred to as downward lightning), which is downwardly discharged from the thundercloud to the ground or lightning (hereinafter, referred to as upward lightning) upwardly discharged from the ground to the thundercloud, according to the polarity of a thundercloud, flows in through the lightning rod or the supporting cables provided at the cable-stayed bridge, such that the current, flowing to the supporting cables, particularly, to an assembly of steel wires forming the supporting cable, is minimized, thereby preventing a decrease, in the mechanical strength of the supporting cables, caused by a fire or heat at the supporting cables because of the heat generated from the supporting cables, that is, Joule's heat caused by the lightning current and electrical resistance of the steel wire assembly, such that the stability of the cable-stayed bridge can be ensured. Furthermore, the cable-stayed bridge lightning protection apparatus for distributing the lightning current has a dipolar lightning rod for minimizing a deviation of discharge start voltages according to the polarity of the thundercloud so as to minimize a deviation in the magnitudes of the currents flowing in the down-conductor and the current distribution conductor, thereby enabling the capacity of the down-conductor and the current distribution conductor to be easily selected when a lightning protection system of the cable-stayed bridge is designed. In addition, the lightning protection apparatus exhibits an effect of providing the lightning rods to each supporting cable (30) and respectively providing the down-conductors thereto in order to prevent the lightning flowing to the supporting cables (30), thereby having excellent complexity, constructability, and economic efficiency, which are provided to lightning protection devices for each supporting cable of the cable-stayed bridge by using one lightning rod.
