Title:
CAGE ROTOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1990/006013
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Slotted conductors (1e) and end rings (1d) of a cage rotor core (1) are formed by filling a rotor core shell with molten aluminum at a flow rate not more than 1.5 m/sec, and then solidifying the filled aluminum under a high pressure of not less than 400 kg/cm2, whereby the density of the aluminum is raised to 2.64-2.70 g/cm3. Thus the size and weight of the motor can be reduced greatly, and a cage rotor having improved torque characteristics, quality and reliability can be obtained.
