Abstract:
Provided are: calcium carbonate which is less likely to be precipitated and exhibits excellent dispersibility when added to a food such as a beverage and can impart good elasticity when added to a boiled fishery paste product; a calcium carbonate preparation for food addition use; and a food. The calcium carbonate is characterized in that the BET specific surface area is 20 to 45 m2/g, and a void volume having a void diameter of 0.1 μm or less in a void diameter distribution curve (0.01 to 10 μm) as determined by mercury porosimetry accounts for 30% or more of the total void volume.
