Abstract:

When initiating a call, in order to establish a call session between a calling IP telephone (20a) and a receiving IP telephone (20b) via an IP network (step S1 through step S4), the IP telephones exchange, with each other, information regarding communication qualities thereof with a recording server (10), and with the calling IP telephone (20a) and the receiving IP telephone (20b) the communication quality of the IP telephones are compared against each other. For example, when the receiving IP telephone (20b) has better communication quality than the calling IP telephone (20a), that is, the other party of the call, the receiving IP telephone is set so as to transmit communication voice data to the recording server (10) as recording data (step S6), whereas when the calling IP telephone (20a) has poorer communication quality than the receiving IP telephone (20b), that is, the other party of the call, the calling IP telephone is set so as not to transmit the communication voice data to the recording server (10) (step S5). With the provided call recording method, the same data is never transmitted to the recording server as the recording data.
