Abstract:
This cam shaft manufacturing method has: a split mold group preparation step; a processing preparation step, wherein cams (equipped with cam main bodies having a through-hole and smaller in size than cam accommodating parts, and equipped with ribs provided on both sides in the thickness direction of the cam main bodies and capable of fitting into rib accommodating parts), and a hollow shaft, are prepared, and the cam main bodies are inserted into the cam accommodating parts and the ribs are fitted into the rib accommodating parts, and the hollow shaft is inserted into the through-holes of the cams; and a processing step, wherein hydrofoam processing is performed and the hollow shaft is expanded, thereby securing the cams to the hollow shaft.
