Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1985/000864
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A cam shaft (10) is composed of components such as a hollow shaft (11) and a cam lobe (12) or other component made of a sintered alloy. The hollow part of the shaft (11) defines a lubricating oil passage, and lubricating oils is supplied to the peripheral surface of the cam lobe (12) through radial oil holes (13), (14) provided in the shaft (11) and the cam lobe (12), respectively. Either the oil hole (13) in the shaft (11) or the oil hole (14) in the cam lobe (12) is formed so that it is larger than the other hole, to ensure that the oil holes (13), (14) will not be blocked even if there is a slight positioning error when the cam lobe (12), or other component, is secured directly to the shaft (11) by liquid-phase sintering.
