Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To accurately control the direction of a camera as is expected. [MEANS
FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A monitoring system (10) includes a rotary camera (20)
and a personal computer (PC) (30) as a control device for controlling the direction
of the camera (20). According to the monitoring system (10), a captured image
by the camera (20) is displayed on a display (32) of the PC (30). When an arbitrary
point on the displayed captured image by a mouse (34), the direction of the camera
(20) is controlled so that the specified point is located at the center of the screen.
In this control, the mechanical axis coordinate system around the origin of the
rotation center of the camera (20) is conceptually introduced. In this mechanical
axis coordinate system, the camera direction for the specified point is obtained
and the camera is directed to the obtained direction. As a result, the direction
of camera can be accurately matched with the direction corresponding to the specified
point.
