Abstract:
Provided is a camera system wherein digitization of the camera system can be carried out with a gradual investment in equipment. Digital video signals (SD) sent in successively from a camera head unit (2) are stored in an image memory unit (12). The stored digital video signals (SD) are converted into analog video signals (SA) by a D/A converter unit (15), and transmitted to a capture board (3) at timings based on a synchronization signal (SS) sent from the capture board (3). Since a conventional analog-type capture board (3) can be used when an analog-method camera system is to be changed to a digital-method camera system, investment in equipment can be alleviated in comparison to when all the equipment are renewed, thereby enabling digitization with a gradual investment in equipment.
