Abstract:
According to the present invention, a version can be switched from the current version to an older version in each of the firmware for a camera body and an interchangeable lens. In a device with a newer mount system version, when the mount system versions of the camera body and the interchangeable lens are not the same and are incompatible with each other, a compatible version is selected from among each of substitutable versions of the firmware in the camera body and each of substitutable versions of the firmware in interchangeable lens by using compatibility information. Thus, the firmware of the camera body and the firmware of the interchangeable lens are operated with the specification of selected version, thereby ensuring the minimum operation.

Claims:
