Abstract:
Provided is a camera system capable of accurately grasping reference coordinates of a plurality of cameras and obtaining highly-reliable external environmental information from image capture signals of the cameras. The camera system includes a plurality of cameras (1R, 1L), each capturing a different area at a predetermined framerate, and a marker (2) that emits a reference mark (M) into an area (AC) where capture areas (AR, AL) of the respective ones of the plurality of cameras (1R, 1L) overlap. The marker (2) controls a change in a state of emission of the reference mark (M). The marker (2) emits the reference mark (M) as infrared light, and the plurality of cameras (1R, 1L) have sensitivities for capturing images from the visible light range to the infrared light range. Spatial and temporal reference coordinates are recognized in each image on the basis of the reference mark (M) captured in the image from each camera (1R, 1L), and after the coordinates are matched to each other, external environmental information is obtained by cross-referencing the images with each other.
