Abstract:
Support bases (4) for supporting camshafts (5, 6) in a rotatable manner are mounted on the cylinder head (1) of an internal combustion engine. The support bases (4) are provided so as to be separated from each other in the axial direction of the camshafts (5, 6). Each of the support bases (4) comprises bearing sections (45b, 45c) which support the camshafts (5, 6) and a through-hole (41d) which extends in the axial direction of the camshafts (5, 6). A shaft (7) is inserted through the through-holes (41d), and the shaft (7) prevents the bearing sections (45b, 45c) from being displaced from positions at which the bearing sections (45b, 45c) are located while the internal combustion engine is stopped and cold.
