Abstract:
The present invention relates to an antifungal composition, a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of candidiasis, and uses thereof, wherein the compositions each utilize the activity of lipoteichoic acid derived from various Gram-positive bacteria to inhibit the adhesion and aggregation of Candida fungi. When used, the compositions were identified to have the effect of inhibiting the adhesive and aggregative strength, which are key virulence factors for the infection of Candida fungi and candidiasis, and thus can be used for antifungal purposes against Candida fungi and for the prevention or treatment of candidiasis-related infections.
