Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a candidate image determination device and method, program designed for said device, and a recording medium for storing said program, which serve to assist with image selection so as to keep the numbers of published images in which specified persons are shown as equal as possible. When a plurality of images are input, the images in which a given person is included are grouped together. If the number of images of the given person is greater than or equal to the maximum number of published images (YES in step 61), then overall image evaluation values are computed for the images in which the given person appears (step 62). The images for which the overall image evaluation values are low are determined to be non-publication image candidates so that the maximum number will not be reached or exceeded (step 63).
