Abstract:
A canvas retracting mechanism for covering boards, tipping lorries, wagons or similar cargo transporting vehicles is designed to improve the performance and efficiency in comparison with other, conventional systems. The invention is versatile and allows covering and uncovering manually from the floor, in a matter of seconds. The invention comprises a pair of diagonals coupled at their centre in each vehicle, forming a scissor mechanism which, when moved on the rails located along the sides of the board, tipping lorry or waggon, allows the canvas to be stretched or withdrawn. It comprises in addition a front closure on both sides to increase closing effectiveness and prevent infiltration. At the rear it comprises a tensioning system in the form of a ratchet which guides the canvas, tensioning the canvas more uniformly and increasing resistance, and it has a self-rolling shutter.
