Abstract:
Provided is a cap opener that, when removing a screw cap that has a ring around the periphery thereof, can efficiently remove the screw cap and the ring. The cap opener removes a screw cap C2 that is fitted to an opening of a container C1, and a ring A that is attached to the periphery of the screw cap C2 and prevents the screw cap C2 from being opened by hand. The cap opener is provided with: a head B1 that is placed over the screw cap C2; and a pair of arms B2 that extend from the head B1. The head B1 is provided with: an abutting part 2 that can pressingly contact a peripheral surface part C22 of the screw cap C2; a top surface facing part 3 that faces a top surface part C21 of the screw cap C2; a needle part 6 that is provided on the top surface facing part 3 and is able to penetrate through the top surface part C21 of the screw cap C2; and an engagement part 8 that can engage with the ring A. When the pair of arms B2 are operated in a direction in which the pair of arms B2 close, the abutting part 2 pressingly contacts the peripheral surface part C22 of the screw cap C2, the engagement part 8 engages with the ring A, and the screw cap C2 and the ring A can be simultaneously removed.
