Abstract:
Provided is a capacitance detection device which is capable of preferably distinguishing between a change in capacitance due to an external factor such as water drops and a change in capacitance due to a human-induced operation and detecting the occurrence of the human-induced operation with a simple structure. First switching control and second switching control, in which a second switch operation is performed with different charging times, are alternately repeatedly performed. The number of repetition times of the second switch operation until a potential of a terminal of a reference capacity is changed to a set potential is counted in the first switching control and the second switching control. On the basis of the number of repetition times in at least one of the first switching control and the second switching control, it is judged whether there is a change in capacity to be measured, and on the basis of the numbers of repetition times in the first switching control and the second switching control, it is judged whether the change in capacity to be measured is caused by an event to be detected.
