A capacitive grating type digital display tape measure, comprising a housing, a blade casing (1), a blade (2), and a capacitive grating transducer. A rotatable center shaft (3) is provided inside the housing in the axial direction thereof. The blade casing (1) is mounted at the inner side of the housing close to the back of the housing by means of the center shaft (3), and the blade casing (1) is provided internally with a spring (4) for pre-tightening same. The blade is wound and collected in a groove in the outer circumference of the blade casing (1). The capacitive grating transducer is located at the inner side of the housing close to the front of the housing and obtains a measurement length of the blade by measuring the rotation angle of the center shaft. The inner wall of the housing is provided, at a position corresponding to an outlet, with a self-adjusting mechanism used for adjusting the speed at which the blade extends out of the housing or shrinks into the housing. Since the speed at which the blade extends out of the housing or shrinks into the housing is automatically adjusted by the self-adjusting mechanism, the influence on the measurement result due to that the response speed of the capacitive grating transducer cannot keep up with the speed at which the blade extends out of the housing or shrinks into the housing is avoided.
