Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a capacitive touch panel in which the discrimination of noise signals is facilitated without significantly changing the touch panel structure, and which accurately detects a position where an input operation is being performed. The capacitive touch panel according to the present invention is provided with a capacitance change determination means which compares a voltage change level R(n, m) at each detection electrode S(n), as detected by a capacitance detection means, with a detection threshold value, wherein when a detection signal is being output to one of a plurality of drive regions DV(m), if the detected voltage change levels R(n, m) at all detection electrodes S(n) are equal to or greater than the detection threshold value, then a position detection means does not attempt to detect a position where an input operation is being performed, assuming that noise is generated during the long period when the detection signal is output to the drive region DV(m).
