Abstract:
A capillary electrophoresis apparatus according to the present invention is capable of maintaining an even temperature along the length directions of each of a plurality of capillaries and is thus capable of stabilizing the separation performance of the capillary electrophoresis apparatus and enhancing the separation performance. This capillary electrophoresis apparatus is provided with: a thermostatic tank that has a heat source, a first heat conducting member, and a detection window for sample detection and keeps capillaries at a prescribed temperature; a capillary holder that holds the capillaries and has a second heat conducting member that, together with the first heat conducting member, sandwiches the capillaries; and a detection unit for detecting a sample that exhibits electrophoresis within the capillaries. The capillary electrophoresis apparatus is characterized in that the amount by which the heat source heats at least one from among the area around the detection window and end parts of the capillaries is greater than the amount by which other locations are heated.
