Abstract:
Provided are a carbon dioxide separation unit and carbon dioxide separation method with which it is possible to efficiently separate carbon dioxide from a gas to be treated by hydrating the carbon dioxide contained in the gas to be treated. The carbon dioxide separation unit comprises: a carbon dioxide hydrate generating unit that generates carbon dioxide hydrate using water and carbon dioxide-containing gas as starting materials; and a carbon dioxide absorption unit that brings water into gas-liquid contact with high-pressure gas that has passed through the carbon dioxide hydrate generating unit without being hydrated, thereby having the water absorb the carbon dioxide contained in the high-pressure gas. The water in the carbon dioxide absorption unit is fed to the carbon dioxide hydrate generating unit as the water starting material.
