Abstract:
A carbon fiber bundle comprising carbon fibers and a sizing agent, wherein said sizing agent comprises a water-soluble polyurethane resin having an SP value of 11.2-13.3 and adheres, at a ratio of 0.5-7 mass%, to said carbon fibers. A carbon fiber bundle comprising carbon fibers and a sizing agent, wherein said sizing agent comprises the following component (A) together with components (B1) or (B2) and adheres, at a ratio of 0.5-7 mass%, to said carbon fibers:
(A) 73-98 mass% of a polyoxyalkylene unit; and
(B1) 0.5-15 mass% of an aromatic ester unit and 1.5-10 mass% of an aromatic urethane unit; or
(B2) 0.5-10 mass% of an aromatic ester unit and 1.5-11 mass% of an aliphatic urethane unit.
Thus, carbon fiber bundles, which have good handling properties during the production and processing thereof, show excellent collectability and are highly spreadable in an aqueous dispersion medium even at a high concentration, are provided.
