Abstract:
The present invention provides a carbon fiber cord which exhibits both high bending fatigue resistance and high adhesiveness. This disclosed carbon fiber cord is a material for reinforcing a rubber article. The carbon fiber cord comprises a carbon fiber, a first coating film formed on the carbon fiber, and a second coating film formed so as to cover the first coating film. The first coating film contains a phenol resin, but does not contain any rubber component, while the second coating film contains a rubber component. The quantity of the first coating film is 0.5 to 10 mass% relative to the total mass of the carbon fiber and the first coating film.
