Abstract:

Provided is a carbon fiber manufacturing method that has a surface treatment step in which an ozone solution, which is ozone dissolved in a solvent, is emitted from a liquid emission nozzle towards carbon fiber bundles, the ozone solution is caused to pass between the single fibers of the carbon fiber bundle so as to come into contact with the surface of the single fibers, thereby treating the surface of the carbon fibers using the ozone solution. Also provided is a surface treated carbon fiber obtained by the carbon fiber manufacturing method.
