Abstract:
Provided are a separation membrane module, and a carbon film composite having a carbon film which has a high separation factor and a fast permeation rate. Specifically disclosed is a carbon film composite (A) having a carbon film (4) on the surface of a porous substrate (5), wherein the R value (the peak strength of the D band/the peak strength of the G band) calculated from the Raman spectra of the carbon film (4) is 0.840 or more. The separation membrane module is configured by storing the carbon film composite (A) in a storing container (10) and by being provided with: a mixed-fluid introduction chamber (11) in which a mixed fluid containing two or more gases or two or more liquids is introduced into the side of the carbon film (4) of the carbon film composite (A); and a fluid separation chamber (12) in which, among the mixed fluid of the mixed fluid introduction chamber (11), the gas or fluid having a small molecular diameter permeates through the carbon film (4) and is guided to the side of the porous substrate (1).
