Abstract:
Provided are: a carbon material for an air electrode for an air battery, which has more reaction starting points for an oxygen reduction reaction compared with those of conventional carbon materials; and an air battery which comprises the carbon material.
A carbon material for an air electrode for an air battery, which can be used in an air electrode for an air battery, said carbon material being characterized in that the average aspect ratio of the carbon material is 1 or more and less than 10 and the edge area of the surface of the carbon material is 55 m2/g or more.
