Abstract:
A carbon-tube-reinforced polyacrylonitrile/nylon 6 composite fiber for air filtration, wherein the composite fiber is prepared by the following method: forming a carbon-nano-tube-modified polyaniline fiber layer on a substrate; forming a polyacrylonitrile fiber layer on the carbon-nano-tube-modified polyaniline fiber layer; forming a nylon 6 fiber layer on the polyacrylonitrile fiber layer; and forming a polyethylene oxide fiber layer on the nylon 6 fiber layer. The method overcomes the defects of existing non-woven fiber materials. By doping carbon tubes in a fiber layer, the carbon tubes in the fiber layer can increase the surface area inside the fibers, thereby increasing the contact area of air and the fiber material, and making the filtration efficiency of a filtration material higher. Also, due to the addition of the carbon tubes, pores between the fibers become larger, so filtration resistance of the filtration material can also be effectively reduced.
