Abstract:
Provided is a carbonaceous acoustic diaphragm that has sufficient mechanical strength and has excellent properties required of acoustic diaphragms. A starting material for amorphous carbon, such as a vinyl chloride resin or a furan resin, is mixed with carbon fibers having an average length of 10 μm to 10 mm. The mixture is molded into a flat shape with an extruder having a slit die to orient the carbon fibers in the extrusion direction. The molded object is burned and carbonized in a non-oxidizing atmosphere.
