Abstract:
Provided is a carbonate-ester purification apparatus (200) which is provided with: a first distillation column (20) into which either alcohol and a first solution including a carbonate ester and formaldehyde, or a first solution including a carbonate ester, formaldehyde, and alcohol are/is supplied, and which obtains, from a column top section (20a), a distillate including formaldehyde and alcohol, and obtains, from a column bottom section (20b), a carbonate ester solution having a reduced formaldehyde content in comparison to the first solution; a reactor (28) provided with a catalyst which causes the formaldehyde and the alcohol to react with each other to produce acetal and/or hemiacetal; and a reflux unit (20A) which refluxes, to the first distillation column (20), a fluid including the acetal and/or the hemiacetal.
