Abstract:
Disclosed is a carbonated tungsten powder having an average particle size of 0.8 μm or less and both the contents of Si and Ca of less than 10 ppm. The carbonated tungsten powder can be produced by mixing a WO3 powder with a C powder in a wet manner by using an organic solvent or the like as a dispersion medium, heating the resulting mixture at a temperature of 750˚C or lower in a reduced atmosphere to reduce WO3, and heating the resulting product at a temperature of 1000˚C or higher in a reducing atmosphere to cause the reaction between the W powder and the C powder.
