Title:
CARBONIC ACID COMPOUND, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POSITIVE ELECTRODE ACTIVE MATERIAL FOR LITHIUM ION SECONDARY BATTERIES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/208453
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a carbonic acid compound which has a sufficiently high tap density in addition to a large specific surface area, and is useful as a starting material for a lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt composite oxide that is used as a positive electrode active material for lithium ion secondary batteries.
Provided is a carbonic acid compound which contains Mn and Ni and/or Co, and has a BET specific surface area of 100-250 m2/g and a tap density of 1.35 g/cm3 or more. Also provided is a method for precipitating a carbonic acid compound by mixing and reacting, in the form of an aqueous solution, (A) a sulfate that contains a sulfate containing Mn and a sulfate containing Ni and/or a sulfate containing Co and (B) a carbonate such as Na carbonate. By setting the carbonate ion density in the initial solution to 0.01 mol/L or more, the pH of the reaction solution during reaction to 8.5-9.0 and the temperature of the reaction solution during reaction to 60°C or more, a carbonic acid compound having a BET specific surface area of 100-250 m2/g and a tap density of 1.35 g/cm3 or more is obtained.
