Abstract:
A production method for a carboxymethyl-group-containing modified hyaluronic acid and/or a salt thereof, the method including a step for reacting, in a hydrous solvent that has a temperature of 30℃ or less, a dissolved raw material hyaluronic acid and/or a salt thereof with a haloacetic acid and/or salt thereof, the hydrous solvent being water or a liquid mixture of a water-soluble organic solvent and water, the proportion of the water-soluble organic solvent in the liquid mixture being 60 v/v% or less.
