Abstract:
When an object is inserted into an insert opening (1b), it is judged that an IC card has been inserted if a card width detection sensor (3) detects the card width (W2) and a magnetic body detection sensor (4) detects a magnetic body while it is judged that a foreign matter has been inserted if no card width (W2) is detected by the card width detection sensor (3) or no magnetic body is detected by the magnetic body detection sensor. Only when it is judged that the IC card has been inserted, a shutter (5) is opened to take the IC card (2) inside and read card information.
