Abstract:
A card reader system and method. An identity reading module is disposed at a financial service terminal. An identity security module is disposed at a server. A plurality of financial service terminal comprise identity reading modules capable of performing data exchange with the identity security module disposed in the server, thereby implementing a verification process verifying an identity document. In comparison to a conventional method in which an identity reading module and an identity security module are connected and disposed in a financial service terminal, the embodiment employs only one identity security module at a financial institution network node having a plurality of financial service terminals, and is only required to maintain only one identity security module, simplifying a process of maintaining an identity security module, and reducing costs.
