Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a card reader with which, even if a static electricity suppression circuit is not disposed upon a circuit board, it is possible to suppress the effect of static electricity which enters via an insertion port. Provided is a card reader (100), in which a first frame (1) is conducting, a second frame (2) is insulating, and a conducting plate (9) is anchored upon the second frame (2), between an insertion port (21) and a second circuit board (4), and in contact with the first frame (1). The insertion port (21) is formed upon an insulating bezel (210), and the conducting plate (9) is anchored to the second frame (2) using the bezel (210). When the first frame (1) and the second frame (2) are overlapping, contact points (95) of the conducting plate (9) make contact elastically with engagement parts (17) of the first frame (1) which engage with the second frame (2). When a card (C) is inserted, it is possible to discharge static electricity which is released from a hand, via the conducting plate (9) and the first frame (1).
