Abstract:
The present invention relates to a card socket for an electronic device and, more particularly, to a card socket for an electronic device having an improved card insertion confirmation structure, wherein the structure of a card insertion confirmation terminal, which senses full insertion of a card or a tray into a card socket, is changed so as to improve stability of insertion of the card or the tray. The card socket for an electronic device having an improved card insertion confirmation structure according to the present invention comprises a detection terminal provided in an insertion space of a housing such that, when a card/tray is inserted, the same is pushed downwards by the card/tray; and a switch terminal provided beneath the detection terminal in the housing so as to contact the detection terminal, wherein the detection terminal comprises a fixed portion, which is fixed to the housing, and a pushing portion connected to the fixed portion and positioned in the insertion space of the housing such that, when contacting the card/tray, the pushing portion is pushed downwards and contacts the switch terminal, and a part of the pushing portion, which contacts the card/tray, is formed in a lower portion than that of a part thereof, which is connected to the fixed portion and moves in a cantilever type, or the portion itself, which contacts the card/tray, is formed to have a height equal to or smaller than the thickness of the bottom surface of the housing.
