Abstract:
Provided is a cargo ship equipped with a hold where lengthy cargo can be loaded. The cargo ship (1) is equipped with a hold (C) where lengthy cargo can be loaded, wherein the hold width (CB) of the hold (C) is between 25-40% of the ship width (B), transverse bulkheads (3) are disposed below an upper deck (2), and the height of the double bottom is between one-fifth and one-tenth of the ship width. Even if a hold (C) having a hold length (CL) of approximately 80% of the ship length (L) is provided, the strength of the hull can be sufficiently ensured. It is therefore possible to transport even lengthy cargo, such as an approximately 150-m rail, which was heretofore untransportable.
