Abstract:
A carrier device for carrying articles such as workpieces and parts/materials as articles to be carried in a transverse direction (horizontal or substantially horizontal direction), and an object thereof is to provide a carrier device or the like not only for carrying articles in a transverse direction in a normal fashion but also for setting positions of articles being carried when they come to a halt at their destinations. A carrying unit (1) comprises, as main parts, conveyors (10), lifts (20) and a supporting table (30). The conveyors (10) are a double-line conveyor in which a synchro rubber belt (13) is set over a driving pulley (11) and a plurality of driven pulleys (12), and in which pulleys (11) are connected to each other by a shaft (14). The lifts (20) are a height variable frame incorporating therein an air bag which increases its height when air is supplied thereinto, and the entirety of the conveyor is placed on each of the air bags. The supporting table (30) is formed from a highly rigid member so as to allow a base (X) to be supported and to stably rest thereon at a predetermined fixed position within a carrying path.
