Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacture of a carrier tape which is capable of connecting an electronic component to a pair of terminal electrodes with higher precision than before. A manufacturing method according to the present invention is a method for manufacture of a carrier tape for storing a plurality of electronic components with seal materials attached, said method comprising: a step of preparing a tape-shaped main body which is provided with a plurality of storage pockets longitudinally thereupon; a step of preparing a tape-shaped seal material which is provided with a plurality of pairs of terminal electrodes upon an adhesive layer which has been formed upon one primary surface of said material; a step of attaching the adhesive layer of the tape-shaped seal material to the other primary surface of the tape-shaped main body such that a portion of each pair of terminal electrodes is positioned in a respective storage pocket; a step of forming notches in the tape-shaped seal material such that portions of the seal material which include portions which overlap the storage pockets are isolated from other portions; and a step of placing electronic components in each storage pocket of the tape-shaped main body and connecting the portion of each pair of terminal electrodes positioned in each storage pocket to the respective electronic component also positioned therein.
