Abstract:
[Problem] To appropriately manage service life of cartridges in cartridges used in imaging devices, and in imaging devices. [Solution] This developer cartridge 1 comprises a detection gear 52, a first protrusion 521, the position of which moves in accordance with the rotation of the detection gear 52, and a cartridge IC 62. First yield information is stored on the cartridge IC 62. The imaging device has a sensor that detects movement of the first protrusion 521. The imaging device verifies the quantity of developer within the developer cartridge 1 or the number of sheets that can be printed with the remaining developer, on the basis of first yield information read from the cartridge IC 62 and second yield information obtained on the basis of the detection signal from the sensor. As a consequence, it is possible to appropriately manage the service life of the cartridge, even in special situations such as incorrect use or incorrect detection.
