Abstract:
A cartridge (80) that can be attached to and detached from an image forming apparatus (1) has: a casing (89) made of resin; a planar memory chip (30) that stores information to be outputted to the image forming apparatus (1); a recessed part (91) that is provided to the outer surface of the casing (89) and formed so as to have the memory chip (30) fitted therein; and restriction parts (94, 194) that are formed integrally with the casing (89), that are provided so as to project from the outer surface of the casing (89) in a direction intersecting the surface of the memory chip (30), and that restrict movement of the memory chip (30) in a direction intersecting the surface of the memory chip (30), wherein the memory chip (30) is attached so as to be moveable within the recessed part (91) in a position where the memory chip (30) is substantially surrounded by the side wall (93) of the recessed part (91).
