Abstract:
Provided is a cash handling apparatus for executing money exchanges using packaged coins, easily and strictly. The cash handling apparatus comprises a packaged coin storehouse capable of paying and receiving the packaged coins when opened with respect to an apparatus body, a packaged coin discriminating sensor for detecting the presence/absence of the packaged coins in the packaged coin storehouse, and an engaging means for holding, when engaged, the packaged coin storehouse in a closed state with respect to the apparatus body. A control means releases, when a mode switching operation is inputted, the engaging means as the moneys are poured through a slit, and monitors the packaged coin storehouse through the packaged coin discriminating sensor, and invalidates the engaging means when the sum of reception of the money poured through the slit and the sum of payment of the packaged coins extracted from the packaged coin storehouse are inconsistent.
